There are plenty of competitions run by the ADPL , but most are for the blokes With this in mind there will be a Ladies Singles tournament at Rileys , Bridge Place , on Saturday 22nd May. John Mulhern has kindly agreed to open early , so registration will be at 11.30 , hoping for a 12.00 start. Entry will be £5.00 , with the winner receiving £50.00, and the runner up £25.00. So is this an official ADPL Ladies Singles then - might as well be? If so then Karin Burt may have the perpetual trophy if there is on as it hasnt been run since 2003, I am sure Jim C can confirm this. Paul is correct ladies can enter any of the comps in Aberdeen i believe. ----------------- CML Web Design LtdYour complete web solution!

correct , official ADPL Ladies singles As you guys well know , some ladies don't enter tournaments because the blokes are all playing , so this one is just for the girls next years tournament format will be discussed at agm time, but could possibly involve a singles league. ----------------- Spot

just out of curiousity spot, how many entries do u expect? have u secured sponsorship for this? £75 prize fund with £5 entry fee means you're looking for 15 players to break even and I didn't think there was this many ladies playing in the ADPL

will be paid out of the prize funds from the ADPL money at presentation night, similar with rest of the tournaments throughout the year, i will get onto the prize money for each tournament this year soon, but will be pretty similar to previous years.

yip, all prize money will be up this year. We took in around £800 extra income this year so giving £40 or so to ladies comp isnt doing too much damage, have no trophies to upgrade / replace like we have done over previous years.
Cup money will remain the same, that is covered by sponsorship which was down this year from the bars that sponsored.
Working on it at the moment, and will get it to John and Proudy next week to ok and will stick on here in advacne of presentation night.

Congratulations to Pauline Hay,on winning her first Aberdeen Ladies Singles title. She played her Glenburn teammate Jaye Scott in the final. Thanks to John Mulhern and his team at Rileys,Bridge Place, for putting up with us and making our day go well, especially with his "new shiny balls". ----------------- Spot
