Darren Matthew pictured with Darren Appleton before their ?1000 money match on Saturday 21 May at the ADPL Presentation Night. Matthew raced into a 3-0 lead only for Appleton to come back and go 7-5 up. Both players were superb and Appleton eventually ran out 11-9 winner.

Why not go the full hog and form The Aberdeen Blackball Pool League play say on a Wednesday or Friday and affiliate to the SPA.The ADPL stays as it is and affiliates to the SEPF.Afterall Blackball and WR pool are two separate games

The players then have the choice which one they want to play or for the lucky ones that are allowed out 3/4 nights a week maybe both

My post may be a bit tongue in cheek but unless all the bickering stops i can see a split coming...........

Very good suggestion cammy.. Although very Tongue in cheek, this might be the way it goes.
Hence why I think it more important to know at the start of the season where we are going, rather than half way through.

And the way to do it is in a democratic vote.
All captains ballot their team members and they tick SPA, SEPF, NONE or don't care. Prior to the agm..
Then at the agm, it gets announced what we are doing in January...

Can't be simpler than that.

Got to agree with the committees proposal in the other thread - the AGM is not the time to be making the decision. Affiliation to either federation is not due until the start of 2013 and at the time of the AGM, we'll only be three quarters of the way through the trial period - still with the super 15's to play.

Should wait until as late as possible to make the decision i reckon.

Any split in the league is the worst thing that can happen, just ask the guys from the up the coast and i'm sure they'll agree. If the vote doesn't go the way you like, just suck it up and get on with it. It's still pool at the end of the day.

can't believe this is still being spoken about! Nothing is going to change at the AGM.

We are not going to affiliate to SEPF because they won't let us.

We are not going to change to BB rules so close to the start of the season, also it would get voted down if it did get proposed.

We are not going to vote for affiliating to SPA again because we still have 5 months left of the year trial affiliation remaining.

So in short no point in arguing about rules until a decision has to be made near the end of the year.

Titch for captain lol

maybe ye should listen to him then :)

- above from Titch is prety much how the committee feels aqnd have been at pains to try and point out to folk,

It would also be totally unfair on a new team wandering into our AGM and to be told to vote SPA or SEPF - they almost certainly would not have any or little idea what it was all about.

If folk could maybe get behind the committee instead of chinese whispers of conspiracy and that we are all pro SPA then be much appreciated as its all rubbish,

it is a bit of a busy time of the season for us without having to try and deal with the arguements of affiliation, had enough hassle and carry ons already for a season and its nae even started lol :-x

Doubt it!

Ewan needs a Press Assistant though Colin following his recent promotion - assuming he is re-elected.

Totally agree Slog and Titch.

To use threats of a break away league is a discgraceful bully tactic and noone who starts that will come out of it with any credit whatsoever. You have the best league in Scotland why would you want to fcuk it up just because you might not get your way!
