Well done to Thomas Bannon in winning this event. We all know that Thomas is a great talent and has won various comps. The Highland Classic,The 15 year anniversary singles to name a few. But this was his first Tour Victory so well done to him. Thomas beat his Shooters team mate Martin McIntosh 7-1 in the final. [ This message was edited by: derek on 2012-07-30 15:21 ]

with the SEPF being a stickler for following rules to the letter nowadays, anyone tell me who won the "over 40s" at Tour Event 1 at weekend

Did we get an answer to this, I asked the same question on the SEPF Facebook page but my posts got deleted
By the way it was an extremely under 40 year old George Morrison. Is there a hidden bylaw that enables you to play in this if you don't actually fit the criteria.
Hypocrites is a word that springs to mind
Fuel to give u something to moan about.. They should have known better BUT, since there is nothing really to play for, and IF they asked everyone playing in it and they didnt mind, canna really see the issue. If it was the over 50s where they play for ranking points i would understand, but this is a meaningless comp anyway.. Nit picking !! Shame on you for moaning, you should "hang your head in shame"...lol

Rules should be rules as the sepf wants, tbh think its actually getting funny how bad it is over a game o pool. Let's gets back to the basics we have a great league here in Aberdeen and despite about some of the things put on forums the committee only interest is on keeping it that way

Who said it was an over 40's event ? It was a fun comp on the day and fun was had by all. There were no complaints by the participants and it was a pleasure to get beat in the final by Young George, Nit picking sums it up Hollywood.
Surely got something better to moan aboot on a Sunday afternoon. Posted by Derek on Sh88ters log on.

Martin and Lindsay,
I cannot believe you have not realised that there is a WEPF by law which states that if you are nearly 40 then you are eligible to play in over 40s events (this is translated from the original vague text by the way so may be inaccurate if t doesn't suit). So, the SEPF were not enforcing their rules but were, in fact, only upholding the letter of the WEPF by law.
I hope this clears everything up.
Adam.

I love the way you boys decide if its an important rule or not.
I paid an affiliation fee to the SEPF to enable me to play in the O40s event so it is either a proper sanctioned event or its a "fun comp" If its the latter can I have my ?10 affiliation fee back please.
And its not about nit picking, its about people being above board and honest with folk.
On that subject Andy any chance you could return the emails, texts and calls from the ADPL Committee in a timely manner , as joint sponsor of the league that is. Lindsay You are trying to pick holes. And about being honest and above board with folk, dinna make me laugh. There was NO over 40s event due to numbers. There were 4 guys that fancied a comp instead and they were all asked if they were ok if george played. They all agreed and had a hack aboot and a few pints, which george won. IF you had been there, u could have stopped it, but you weren't. Get over it. As for returning emails and texts, that is between me and the committee, you know the committee u resigned from last season... Sh88ters management will be represented at AGM..

I'm not picking holes, only asking questions to which I didnt get an answer from the SEPF
If you want to accuse me of anything dishonest or underhand please pick up the phone and talk to me about it or post it on here I have nothing to hide.
If someone from the SEPF had explained the situation as you now have then there is no issue is there.
If I had been there I wouldnt have stopped it Id have probably played in it. If you read my post at the top of the page I was actually supporting the event and said I would have probably gone if not away on holiday.
Yes thats right Andy the email text thing is between you and the committee. The same as my question on this thread was between me and the SEPF, didnt stop you answering it though did it.
Enough said Linz I answered your questions at 18.52 on the 4th Aug. Maybe you are getting cofused with Andy posting coz i posted on Shooters sign on as I was in Shooters. See post a page back.
