...by George Harwood President E.E.P.F.
It was a privilege to be invited to chair the Annual General Meeting of the SEPF on 7th Feb.
As President of the European Eightball Pool Federation, my visit was to meet with the members to discuss the recent financial irregularities within the SEPF, and to give the members of the Federation an opportunity to ask and receive answers to their concerns.
Whilst recognising the financial problems, which are currently being investigated through the Police and legal system, my principle function is to help resolve the situation and put our Scottish Federation back into the strong position it has held in the not too distant past.
The financial problems are down to two areas, dishonesty which happens when we all put our trust in people in responsible positions, but also down to mismanagement which is this case is down to the inexperience of the senior officials of the federation....

Friday 13th saw the arrival of the teams and a chilled out night with some flyers being played.
Group Stages The Team matches started on Saturday 14th at 9am. First on the tables were some of the pre-tournament favourites as Fraserburgh A faced East Neuk A, and Styx A faced East Neuk C. Other matches involved newcomers from Glasgow University v SEPF Ladies Team, Montrose A v Abertay B, Fraserburgh B v Styx B, Kirkcaldy v East Neuk B, Aberdeen B v Cowdenbeath, and Boddam & Cruden v Strathclyde University. MikeClark writes It gives me great pleasure to announce that SEPF Region 1 has secured a new sponsor. Rileys Ltd, with over 165 clubs, are probably the biggest name in Pool and Snooker in the UK, and have recently extended their in-club services to include Poker.
Rileys have two clubs in Aberdeen. By May, there will be six traditional style pool tables installed at their Bridge Place club, next to Aberdeen’s bus and train stations.
In 2008, this will provide a venue for:
- Men’s Premier Section Events. - Men’s Aberdeen Section Events. - North East 5-Man Team Event. - North East Singles Event. - North East Scotch Doubles Event. - Junior’s Tour Section Events. - Other SEPF National Events.
Since the men’s tour split...
